Brent Fortune and the Coava Kone

Brent Fortune came to visit.

He brought me a Kone from Coava.

I tried it in the Hario v60 first.

But then I tried it in the Chemex and it was much better.

Brent brought coffee too. Which came from Coava as well.

He also showed me the helpful video guide that he made.

Which he posted on Brew Methods.

He stayed at the ACE, which had a great view of the Empire State Building.

But you can see the Empire State Building from almost everywhere in NYC, including the Highline.

We also went to Ess-a-Bagel (the good one, not the other one).

Anyway, the Kone is great. It was even featured in Ristretto.

But your experiences may vary. I’ve found that not all coffees taste great with this method.

    why do you think its better in the chemex than in the hario v0?

    I suspect it has to do with the ridges in the v60 creating channels alongrnthe wall of the kone, but I’m not sure.
