Stumptown’s Packaging Design: OMFG

Posted on May 9, 2010 by

Last year Stumptown redesigned their packaging to include color-coded informational cards inserted into the front of each bag. Turns out the excellent work was done by Fritz Mesenbrink of OMFG Co., the same creatives behind the branding at the Ace Hotel in Portland, Palm Springs, and NYC. Yeah, it makes sense now.

OMFG also designs their mugs, postcards, and t-shirts.

I LOVE the pull-out cards on Stumptown bags. Once I open a bag, I transfer the coffee to a container. I like to keep the label in the container so I can remember what I'm drinking. With most bags, I cut out the front and drop it in the container; with these Stumptown bags, I just pull the card out.

Sounds geeky, but I really do like it.
