Holy Crap

That NY Times article blew up our spot yesterday and today. All hands were on deck for a powerhouse of hard-earned weekend sales records. I felt like we were in San Francisco working at Ritual. Show me “paint the fence” Daniel-san, it was back to basics for us. And you better believe all those extra lattes we made looked “just like the picture”. The award for Longest Distance Traveled goes to a nice group from DC, in town to see us. I said “what? You’ve never heard of Murky?” Then I made them promise to visit our friends at Grumpy. I think it’s time to authorize the company picnic to Balthazar. Sorry Peter, the side of spinach at Luger’s just ain’t enough for me. Gimme! Brooklyn has the best team i’ve ever worked with, and I give all the credit to them.

    I think if the numbers remained constant we’d have a problem…at least temporarily, until we adjusted. Then again, these kids are rockin the mic, they could adapt quickly. To answer your question though, i’m sure they will taper back down but remain slightly elevated overall. There’s been steady growth from day one, this just boosted the average a bit faster…

    Congrats again on the deserving coverage – and kudos for really giving it up to the others in the article as well.

    Being it’s NY – hopefully you’ll keep most of the new biz – the hardcore and wannabe hardcores who just learned about y’all, but yeah, our experience is that some of it will die down so you can take a breath.

    Of course here in Pgh, news coverage only equates to a 20% bump since here nobody reads.

    The most dramatic change will be seen during the weekends, as it becomes more of a “destination” shop for couples and friends to check out. Although some folks were in fact neighbors who had “no idea” what we were about. We were feeling pretty groovy before, this was just icing on the cake.

    Oh and Rich? Damn your Pirates. Our Mets will clinch anyway though.

    “my” Pirates? If you were reading along, you’d know I was at the first two games of that series rooting for “my” Mets… you can move the boy out of the NYMetro area, but you can’t take the Mets or Jets away (you can have the Yanks, Giants, Knicks, Nets, Rangers and Islanders, though).

    Although the Buccos are looking pretty formidable these days. Might actually get some Steeler fans to realize there’s another sport in town.
